Here is an example of the Ternus configuration. A brown dot is flashed for 130 milliseconds on the left of the central brown dot, then the dot is flashed for 130 milliseconds on the right of the central brown dot. This sequence is repeated over and over. Your visual system makes the central dot stay put and makes a second dot jump back and forth around the central dot. Visual Intelligence, page 146.
