Here is an example of "Phi" motion over an arc. The brown dot is flashed for 130 milliseconds on the left, then the arc is displayed for 130 milliseconds, then the dot is flashed for 130 milliseconds on the right, followed again by the arc for 130 milliseconds. This sequence is repeated over and over. Your visual system constructs a dot jumping over the arc back and forth. Visual Intelligence, page 144.
