Here is a third example of "Phi" motion. The brown dot is flashed for 10 milliseconds on the left, then the display is blank for 0 milliseconds, then the dot is flashed for 10 milliseconds on the right, followed again by a blank for 0 milliseconds. This sequence is repeated over and over. Now your visual system constructs two blinking dots rather than a motion of one dot back and forth. Visual Intelligence, page 142.
