Here is an example of the Brown and Voth display. Dots are flashed for 130 milliseconds at each corner of a square in sequence. This sequence is repeated over and over. Your visual system creates a dot moving in a circular path (especially if you look slightly to the side of the animation). Visual Intelligence, page 151.
