Here is an example of the von Schiller display. Dots are flashed for 130 milliseconds at the upper left and lower right corners, then a blank screen is flashed for 130 milliseconds, then dots are flashed for 130 milliseconds at the upper right and lower left corners, followed again by a blank screen for 130 milliseconds. This sequence is repeated over and over. Your visual system makes two subjective dots jump back and forth together, sometimes side to side and sometimes up and down. Visual Intelligence, page 147.
